  • PROPER USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.

  • BRASS

    Why
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, popular for its superb malleability, hardness, corrosion resistance and attractive appearance.

    Cleaning and Maintenance
Brass will tarnish over time, especially if it is not kept dry. Find a suitable brass polish and clean the brass carefully without staining other materials.

    Note
Since brass can be quite susceptible to tarnish, small spots might already have occurred on the product when unpacking. These can easily be polished off.

  • OIL TREATED OAK

    Origin
Oak grows in most temperate zones. Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is either 100% FSC certified or FSC mix certified, supporting sustainable forest management. The wood is selected carefully by hand to ensure the best and most durable quality in production.

    Why
Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing antibacterial wood type. Its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains makes oak a safe choice for high-quality interior

    Cleaning and Maintenance
Your new product comes with an oil treatment. For daily cleaning, use a damp cloth firmly wrung and be sure always to wipe the entire surface evenly. We do not recommend the use of cleaning agents for daily cleaning. Spills are to be removed immediately to minimize risk of stains.
Oil treated products are to be retreated 1-2 times per year to keep the protective layer on the surface and maintain the aesthetic qualities from the oil. For future treatment, use a suitable oil treatment and follow the enclosed instructions carefully. Oil treatments can be purchased on Skagerak.dk. Avoid contact with other materials to avoid spots and marks. Always follow the specified safety instructions of the treatment product and use the recommended personal protective equipment.
