In a warm meeting between Nordic sensuality and Japanese minimalism, Georg Stool strikes a solitary pose. Georg’s DNA is characterized by its slender wooden poles and rounded edges – crafted from untreated FSC-certified oak. This version of Georg Stool has a linen cushion and braided linen strap which gives a monochrome and natural expression. Linen is a textile made from natural fibres from the flax plant. The colour of the unbleached cushion may therefore vary in the shades.

  • PROPER USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.

  • OAK

    Origin
Oak grows in most temperate zones. The Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is either 100% FSC certified or FSC mix certified, supporting sustainable forest management. The selection of the wood is extremely careful and all processing is by hand, so that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in production.

    Why
Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing type of wood containing natural tannins that will protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains, this makes oak wood safe choice for high-quality interior.

    Cleaning
The wood comes with no finish. If you choose not to treat it with soap or oil, use a suitable cleaning agent for wood.

    Maintenance
As the wood is untreated it may be affected by grease and colorants. For this reason, we recommend saturating the wood with soap or a suitable furniture oil to make it more resistant. If you wish to use soap or oil, use a suitable product. Be aware that the wood will change colour when applying soap or oil.

    LINEN

  • Why
Linen is made of natural fibres from the flax plant growing in the cooler regions of the world. As it is a natural material, the colour of the unbleached cushion may vary in shades. The long fibres of the plant have for many years been used to make linens. The fabrics are often stronger and heavier than a fabric made of cotton and gives a sublime comfort due to its ability to absorb/give off humidity. .

    Maintenance:
Vacuum the upholstery regularly. Remember to use a proper attachment to avoid pilling.

    Cleaning:
This linen consists of 100% flax and has been sanforised in production which secures a minimal percent of shrinkage in wash. For daily cleaning we recommend vacuum-cleaning the upholstery. For more thorough cleaning wash in machine on maximum 40 degrees. Please notice that the linen will become a little lighter for each wash and will need stretching while still wet to minimize wrinkles.

  • FIBRE WADDING

Fibre Wadding is made of carded thin polyester fibres that contain air in between the fibres. The entrapped air creates the ability to insulate and to provide a soft comfort feeling in the cushion.

    Maintenance
In order to keep the fibres and cushion full of air, be sure to shake the cushion occasionally.
