As well as a round frame for Lemnos plywood clock which was produced as a frame for a tambourine, THOMSON is a wall clock for all of the parts of which wooden plates are used and designed with the intention of telling the time with wooden texture.

Shadows in the soft figures of numbers, the numbers are like designed ones using a Thomson-type technique that is often used in the process of punching paper or wood, create an expression of a three-dimensional impression and it improves the clock’s important function and visibility.

about the designer 

Yuchi Nara 

Born in Tokyo, 1977. In 1999, he graduated from the Construction Department Architecture Course at Yokohama National University. Moved to Italy in 2000. Began designing following a period working at a glass studio and an architect’s office in Venice. In 2006, graduated from Venezia Construction University. During a trip to Noto, Japan, he was so impressed with the richness of the nature and lifestyle, he decided to return to Japan and moved to Notojima. In 2007, he established the Noto design office. Studying local materials and learning local techniques and applying them to his work, he attempts to design products that enrich everyday life. Alongside his design activities, he also grows rice in a rented untilled paddy field.


Founded in 1947 Lemnos Inc. began as a brass casting manufacturer in Toyama Prefecture in Japan. In 1966 the began supplying Seiko Clock Co with key parts and eventually in 1980 began working with well-known and established designers producing fine clocks. 

Collaborating with famous designers Lemnos produces high-quality items by working with craftsmen who enhance the value of the material through their interaction with it. The result is a design object that does not become obsolete through the passage of time.

Lemnos products have received high acclaim and design awards all over the world.
