Story

“The vision was clear: together with slowform, we set out to reimagine barista glassware through the lens of traditional Japanese porcelain, creating an essential cup for modern daily coffee rituals—combining artisanal materials with expert craftsmanship.” — Stefan Scholten

Crafted in Arita, Japan, using clay made entirely from natural “Touseki” porcelain stone. The clay itself was specially blended, drawing on both traditional techniques and a contemporary perspective to connect past and present. This blend includes controlled additions of iron and sand, resulting in subtle, organic details that result in a smooth marble-like finish.

These cups have an unglazed exterior paired with a glazed interior for enduring function. The proportions encourage daily use. Cups are stackable, incredibly durable and combine architectural precision with a calming, tactile feel in the hand.
